CarPlay is an in-car system released by Apple that can be used with the iPhone (not supported by the iPad). Its predecessor was called "iOS in the Car," renamed CarPlay in 2014. CarPlay is a smarter, safer way to use your iPhone while driving.

If your car supports CarPlay, then when your vehicle is connected to your iPhone (via data cable, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi), the car display will automatically switch to CarPlay.

All CarPlay-enabled apps on the iPhone will be automatically displayed in CarPlay, and you can block specific apps or adjust the order in the iPhone settings (General -> CarPlay).

Apple has a consistent design for the CarPlay app user interface, with content provided by the app.

There are three main ways to control CarPlay: Siri, touchscreen display, and physical buttons.
